Annual Progress Review for Postgraduate Research Students
There are two APR systems depending on whether you are studying on-campus at the University of Bolton, or studying with one of our partner institutions. It is important that you follow the process in the relevant box below.
For Students Studying at the University of Bolton
Please follow the process below:
In order to complete the online Annual Progress Review, you will need the following:
- Your University of Bolton student ID number
- The name and University of Bolton email address of your Director of Studies
- A Microsoft Word document with up-to 5000 words, reflecting a recent piece of writing
- Your research title
- A description of your progress in the past year
- A list of any research development you have undertaken, and activities undertaken to disseminate your knowledge
- A list of any publications that you may have published
Please ensure you have all this information before starting the Annual Progress Review, because your form will not be saved if closed incompleted.
Step 1: Click on the button below to launch the APR Form.
If you are not already logged into your University of Bolton Microsoft 365 account, you will be prompted to login. Please login using your University of Bolton email address and network password. If you are already logged into another (personal) Microsoft 365 account, you will need to log-out first, by
clicking here.
Step 2: Fill out the form in full and submit. Please ensure you select the correct Director of Studies when prompted. You can verify that you have selected the correct person by checking the email address of the profile that you have selected.
Step 3: Your form will be submitted to your Director of Studies to process the review. You will receive emails with the agreed date of your meeting and the final outcome of your review; however, the emails will arrive from
microsoft@powerapps.com so please keep an eye on your Junk/Spam folders and save this email address to your safe senders list.

For Students Studying at a Partner Institution
For example: NYC Athens, UNYP, University of South Westphalia, MIM etc.
Please follow the process below (for guidance, see the APR Process Flowchart):

- Your research title
- A description of your progress in the past year

- A list of any publications that you may have published
Please ensure you have all this information before starting the Annual Progress Review.
